Gulgula Pua/Meethi Pakodi

Ingredients to make Gulgula Pua/Meethi Pakodi

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour(atta)
  • 1 tbsp fennel seeds(saunf) crushed coarsely
  • 1 cup plus 3 tbsp milk
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp Cardamom Powder(optional)
  • Oil/Ghee to fry

How to make Gulgula Pua/Meethi Pakodi

  1. Mix the sugar in the milk and mix well with an egg whisk till sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Sift flour and add cardamom powder(if using).Start mixing the milk and keep on whisking till you get a very thick batter (much like a fruit cake batter) which does not drop easily.
  3. Medium to thin batter will not make perfect Gurgle shapes and will fall flat while frying.
  4. Heat oil in a non stick pan and when hot enough,drop spoonfuls of batter into the oil.Deep fry on medium heat till brown in color.Serve hot or at room temperature.
My Tip: Can be kept for a day without spoiling and is perfect for trips,picnics and long travelling tours!

u also can add grated coconut(not fresh one) in the batter to enhance its taste.
