Koli Aappam

Ingredients to make Koli Aappam

  • Maida – 1 cup
  • Egg – 1
  • Bicarbonate of soda – 1 pinch
  • Salt – to taste
  • To grind - Shredded coconut – 1 cup
  • Onion – 1
  • Green chili – 1
  • Fennel – 1 tsp
  • 1 big pinch of turmeric powder.

How to make Koli Aappam

  1. In a jar add shredded coconut, sliced onion, green chilli, fennel seed and blend it nicely with half cup water. Strain it and keep aside.
  2. In another bowl add egg, beat thoroughly, add flour, salt, soda bicarbonate, strained coconut milk. Mix well.
  3. Adjust the consistency like aappam batter.
  4. Heat aapam pan ,pour a ladle full of batter in the centre, twist the pan to get the desired round shape. Close with lid cook for 1- 2 minutes in a medium flame.
  5. Fold and transfer to a plate. Serve with any veg or non-veg gravy and enjoy.
