Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 1 beetroot
  2. Desi ghee 6 tablespoon
  3. Green cardamom 4
  4. Green cardamom powder 1 teaspoon
  5. Sugar 6 tablespoons (divide into two)
  6. Milk 1 litre + 1/2 cup
  7. Rose essence few drops
  8. Mava 100 gm
  9. Almonds 15 to 20 chopped
  10. Cashewnuts 15 to 20 chopped
  11. Pistachio 15 to 20 chopped
  12. Bread slices 4 (cut into rectangular shape)
  13. Saffron 1 teaspoon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make beet root halwa first
  2. Boil the whole beetroot in a pan
  3. Peel it and grate it
  4. Add two tablespoons of desi ghee in a pan
  5. Heat it and add cardamom and some chopped nuts
  6. After few seconds add the grated beetroot into it
  7. Cook it for few minutes till the ghee leaves the sides of pan
  8. Add half cup of milk , sugar and khoya into it
  9. Cook for some minutes till all the things mix together. Beetroot halwa is ready.
  10. For the rabdi -
  11. Heat one litre of milk in a non- stick pan
  12. Reduce the heat after one boil, cook it continuously for 20 to 30 minutes on medium flame till it is reduced to three-fourth its original volume
  13. Nnow add sugar saffron cardamom powder some nuts and khoya into it and mix well
  14. Remove from heat add some drops of rose essence
  15. for the bread slices -
  16. Take desi ghee in a pan
  17. Cut bread slices into rectangular shape and deep fry them in desi ghee till they becomes golden and crisp
  18. In a dish take the slices of bread and arrange in the bottom of the bowl
  19. Put a tablespoon of beetroot halwa on each slice
  20. Pour some hot rabdi on each
  21. Take another slice of bread and arrange these on the top
  22. Pour rabdi on it and garnish with beetroot halwa and pistachios and almonds
  23. Serve
