A traditional Nankhatai made in a pressure cooker

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Besan - 125 gms
  2. Sugar(Powdered ) - 125 gms
  3. Ghee (melted) - 125 gms
  4. Suji - 1/2 cup
  5. Pista or Badam sliced - 2 tablespoon
  6. Cardamom - 4 ( Powdered )
  7. Baking powder -1/2 tsp
  8. Crystal salt - 400 gms

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl and mix all the ingredients. I powdered elaichi with the sugar.
  2. Now in the meantime take the pressure cooker and heat it.
  3. Crystal salt added in the cooker
  4. Keep a stand or ring inside the pressure cooker .
  5. Make small balls and press gently. Garnish with sliced almonds or pistachios & place it on a greased plate.
  6. There should be some distance between the nankhatai as it will expand
  7. Now place this plate on the stand inside the pressure cooker
  8. Close the pressure cooker. Do not keep the whistle/weight over the cooker.
  9. Let it cook on low to medium flame for about 10 to 15 minutes. They should not get burnt.
  10. So check it in between. If done remove carefully and keep aside to cool.
  11. Kept for cooling on stand
  12. Now store in airtight containers and enjoy your Besan Nankhatai
  13. Store in airtight containers.
