Daal Fara/Fara Prepared With Wheat Flour And Chana

Ingredients to make Daal Fara/Fara Prepared With Wheat Flour And Chana

  • Wheat flour 2 1/2 cup
  • Chana dal 1 1/2 cup soaked
  • Green chili chopped 2 tbsp 2 tsp
  • Salt to taste+ 1 tbsp
  • Asafoetida 1 tsp
  • Chopped Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
  • chopped onion 2 tbsp
  • Red chili powder 2 tsp
  • Cumin 1 tsp
  • Garlic 1 tbsp
  • oil 2 tbsp
  • Chopped ginger 1 tsp
  • Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander for garnishing
  • For chutney- Coriander leaves 1 bunch
  • green chili 4
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • garlic 2 buds
  • Dry mango powder or lemon juice 1 tbsp

How to make Daal Fara/Fara Prepared With Wheat Flour And Chana

  1. Knead a soft dough with 1 tsp salt and water. Coarsely grind the dal with 1 tbsp salt, heeng, and green chili, add coriander leaves mix well.
  2. Divide the dough into equal small portion and roll out the small poories, stuff with mixture and seal it. Boil 4 glasses of water with 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp oil.
  3. Cook them for 15 minutes. Let them cool. Now cut the fara into round pieces
  4. Now heat the oil in a wok or non-stick pan. Saute the cumin,green chili ,ginger.and onion . Add cooked fara, red chili powder and salt, fry it for 5 to 6 minutes or till the fara becomes golden and crisp.
  5. For chutney--Blend all ingredients with 2 tbsp water. Serve hot with chutney.
My Tip: we can add some lemon juice in fara.
