Roti Ka Halwa/Bread Halwa

Ingredients to make Roti Ka Halwa/Bread Halwa

  • 4 bread slices preferably a day old
  • 1/2 cup sugar powdered with 2 cardamoms
  • 300 ml milk
  • 50 gm clarified butter
  • Few strands of Saffron
  • Few raisins and cashews

How to make Roti Ka Halwa/Bread Halwa

  1. First, chop bread into medium sized pieces.
  2. Next soak saffron strands in 200 ml lukewarm milk
  3. Fry cashews and raisins in 25 gram clarified butter and keep it aside.
  4. Now fry bread peices in the remaining clarified butter till they are golden brown.
  5. Once golden brown, add saffron milk.
  6. Start breaking the bread peices and add rest of the 100 ml milk.
  7. Once the bread pieces turn mushy, add powdered cardamom sugar.
  8. Mix well till well combined and cook till it starts leaving the sides of pan.
  9. Garnish with saffron strands and fried cashews and raisins and serve hot.
