Fish in Chilli Sauce

Ingredients to make Fish in Chilli Sauce

  • 1 medium sized onion (roasted)
  • 6 kashmiri red chillies (lightly boiled and deseeded)
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 2 inch piece ginger
  • 3 cloves
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 1 1/2 tbsp malt vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tsp sugar
  • Salt according to taste
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 2 Mackerels ( whole washed and cleaned).
  • 2 tbsp oil

How to make Fish in Chilli Sauce

  1. Apply salt and turmeric powder to the fish and set aside for 30 minutes.
  2. Make a paste of the first 10 ingredients. You may add 2 to 3 tbspns of the water. Remember the paste should not be watery.
  3. Heat oil in pan and fry the fish and remove and keep aside.
  4. In the same oil add the paste and cook on medium heat till oil separates.
  5. Now add the fried fish and roll in the cooked paste till fully coated.
  6. Serve hot. Best with steamed rice
