ABOUT Ambo Khatta RECIPE

It is a khata meetha mango chutney that can be enjoyed anytime with any meal.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Cubed Raw mango 1
  2. Coarsely ground garlic cloves 7-8
  3. Kadi patta 10-12 leaves
  4. Panch phoran 1 tbsp
  5. Sugar 5-6 tbsp
  6. Fenugreek seeds powder 1/2 tbsp
  7. Cumin powder 1/2 tbsp
  8. Turmeric powder a pinch
  9. Red chilli powder as per taste
  10. Salt as per taste
  11. Oil 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a kadhai and add panch phoran.
  2. Add dry red chillies
  3. Add garlic cloves and Kadi patta and stir for a minute or two
  4. Add the cubed Raw mango and stir
  5. Sprinkle some salt and turmeric powder. Stir and cover with a lid for 2-3 minutes
  6. Once the mango turns mushy or is cooked add sugar and stir well
  7. Add red chilli powder, cumin powder, fenugreek powder and mix well. (Add salt as well if needed)
  8. Turn off the gas, cool it before you serve it.
