Poppy Seed Halwa

Ingredients to make Poppy Seed Halwa

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup poppy seeds (washed and soaked in water for 5 hours)
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup ghee
  • 3-4 cardamom
  • 3-4 almonds

How to make Poppy Seed Halwa

  1. Grind the poppy seeds along with little milk and make a smooth paste
  2. Heat 1/4 ghee in non stick pan add poppy seeds paste
  3. Roast till the colour changes and emits a nice aroma. Add more ghee if needed .Remove and keep aside.
  4. Add milk sugar and cardamom in a pot and boil it.
  5. Now add roasted seed paste, cook it until it becomes thick.
  6. Transfer it to a serving dish and garnish with almonds.

My Tip:

Soak poppy seeds in milk instead of water
