Sooji Oats Uttapam

Ingredients to make Sooji Oats Uttapam

  • Rawa or sooji - 1 cup
  • Quick rolled oats - 2 tbsp (quaker)
  • Curd - 2 to 3 tbsp
  • Water to make a thick paste
  • 1/2 - onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 - tomato finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp - capsicum finely chopped
  • Coriander leaves finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Jeera - 1 tsp
  • Pinch of sugar
  • Eno or cooking soda - 1 tsp
  • Ghee or oil

How to make Sooji Oats Uttapam

  1. Mix the rawa/sooji in a bowl and add the oats and mix well along with curd. Now add the water to make a thick paste.
  2. Add all the other ingredients except the oil/ghee. Mix well to form a lump free batter.
  3. Now take a non stick pan and heat it and sprinkle some ghee or oil. Pour your batter slightly thick the way we do it for uttapams and let it cook for a few minutes.
  4. Then pour ghee from the top and flip the uttapam.
  5. Cook it well till you get a nice light brown color.
  6. Serve with green chutney or sauce.
My Tip: I also sprinkle grated cheese from the top sometimes to make it wholesome.
