Ingredients to make Badam Burfi

  • 1 cup badam / almonds
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 and 1/2 cup sugar , grind it to fine powder
  • 1/4 tsp Cardamom Powder
  • 2 tbsp ghee

How to make Badam Burfi

  1. Soak one cup of almonds in enough amount of hot water for about 30 minutes.
  2. Peel the skins of the almond and blend it into smooth paste using just enough milk as needed [approximately 1/2 cup milk will be needed].
  3. Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a pan on low heat.
  4. Add the almond paste and cook on low to medium heat stirring continuously.
  5. Stir well until most of the moisture in it dries up and the mixture becomes a thick mass.
  6. Continue stirring till it starts leaving the sides of the pan and when you touch the mixture it should not stick to your fingers.
  7. Switch off the flame and add cardamom powder. Mix it well
  8. Transfer this to greased plate and smoothen the surface with back of spoon or spatula.
  9. You may place butter paper over the mixture and used rolling pin to flatten it to desired thickness with a smooth surface.
  10. Once the mixture becomes warm, cut into desired shapes.
