Ingredients to make Moong dal halwa

  • 1 cup split green gram dal( dhuli moong dal)
  • 1 cup ghee
  • 1 and half cup milk
  • Pinch cardamom powder
  • Few saffron strands
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 Cup water
  • Almonds for garnish

How to make Moong dal halwa

  1. Soak dal for 2 hours , then coarsely grind it without water
  2. Heat ghee in nonstick pan ,add dal mixture and mix well and cook on low flame .
  3. Stir it continuously upto 25 minutes , press it while stirring so dal get cooked .
  4. After 25 minutes, add milk and keep stirring.
  5. Meanwhile heat sugar one cup add water to it in other nonstick and cook till sugar gets dissolve completely and add cardamom powder.
  6. now add sugar syrup to dal mixture & cook upto 5 minutes more and switch off gas.
  7. Garnish with almonds and serve hot .
