Jibe Goja

Ingredients to make Jibe Goja

  • 250 gms Flour
  • 2 tsp  ghee
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • Water for kneading
  • Oil for deep frying.( ghee may also be used)
  • Syrup (1 cup sugar and 1/2cup boiled together to make very thick syrup two string consistency)

How to make Jibe Goja

  1. Sift the flour and baking powder together , add the ghee and knead to a soft smooth dough with a little water.
  2. Divide into 12 portions.
  3. Roll out into ovals , slightly thick ,with the tip of a knife make several small slashes on the ovals of the dough .
  4. Heat ghee or oil in a pan and deep fry the oval rolled pastry until it is lightly brown and crisp.  This is best done in medium hot oil.
  5. Heat the sugar syrup
  6. Put the prepared jibe goja in the sugar syrup and coat lightly . Remove after about two minutes.
  7. Place on a flat surface and cool for sometime. Serve.
