Ingredients to make Choole ( Kabuli Chana)

  • choole 1 bowl
  • Potato 1
  • Onions 3
  • Tomatoes 3
  • beetroot 1 small piece
  • garlic 8/10 cloves
  • Green chilli 3
  • Ginger 1 small piece
  • fresh coriander leaves 1 tbs
  • Salt as your taste
  • red chilli powder 1 and 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Dry Coriander powder 1 tbs
  • Hing 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  • water 2 + 1 glass
  • oil 2 tbs + ghee 1 tsp

How to make Choole ( Kabuli Chana)

  1. Take this ingredients onions tomatoes green chilli garlic ginger potato n coriander.
  2. Take 1 bowl chickpea wash and soak into the hot water for 2 hours.
  3. Now take soaked chickpea and potato into the cooker add 2 glass of water and give 3 to 4 whistle. After 10 minutes drain excess water and peeled potatoes.
  4. Now take grated onion, tamoto puree ,crushed chilli garlic and ginger ,boiled chickpeas and potato .
  5. Take 1 tsp grated beetroot for nice colour and keep asides.
  6. Add 2 tbs oil and 1 tbs ghee in kadai and simmer on flame. Add cumin seeds in it and when it splattered add hing and turmeric powder in it.
  7. Now add grated onion and saute for 6/7 minutes.
  8. Now add tomato puree and saute for 10 minutes more . Keep stirring the mixture.
  9. Now add crushed chilli garlic and ginger paste and saute again.
  10. Add grated beetroot and saute.
  11. After 5 minute when the gravy leaves oil add slices now.
  12. Now add red chilli powder dry coriander powder and salt keep stirring and saute the mixture.
  13. Your gravy is ready.
  14. Now add mashed potatoes in it.
  15. Add chickpeas and little water.
  16. Add some mashed chickpeas for thick gravy.
  17. Add mashed chickpeas into the mixture.
  18. Add 1 glass water or as your requirement. lid the kadai and leave for 7/8 minutes.
  19. Keep consistency of gravy as your choice.
  20. Choole is ready sprinkle some coriander leaves.
  21. Choole served with onions and coriander leaves.
  22. Serve as your choice.
My Tip: you can make paste from gravy for smooth texture but have to give tadka when you cook choole.
