Crispy famous North Indian Jalebi

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Urad dal/Black Gram - 2 cup
  2. Raw Rice - 1/4 cup
  3. Sugar - 500 gm
  4. Ghee - 400 ml
  5. Rose essence - few drops
  6. Saffron - a pinch
  7. Water - 2 cup

Instructions

  1. Soak Urad daal/Black gram for 1 hour.
  2. Soak raw rice for 1 hour.
  3. Grind Urad dal till it becomes frothy.
  4. Grind Raw Rice finely in mixer.
  5. Mix both and keep aside for 30 minutes.
  6. Make semi thick batter from it.
  7. Heat ghee in a kadahi.
  8. Make round or flower shape coils from batter into the ghee.
  9. Use plastic cone or sauce bottle for making coil design.
  10. Fry coils till they become crisp and golden in colour.
  11. In another pan make a sugar syrup from water and sugar.
  12. Add rose essence and saffron soaked in warm water.
  13. When fried Coils are warm dip them in sugar syrup and leave for 2 or 3 minutes.
  14. After this take out from Sugar syrup and enjoy hot Jalebi.
