Enduri Pitha (Odiya Delicacy)

Ingredients to make Enduri Pitha (Odiya Delicacy)

  • turmeric leaf
  • urad dal 1cup
  • rice 1 cup
  • salt
  • Mitha soda 1 tsp
  • For stuffing-
  • Shredded coconut 2 cups
  • cottage cheese 1 cup
  • jaggery 1cup
  • cardamom pwdr 1 tsp
  • Black pepper powder 1 tsp

How to make Enduri Pitha (Odiya Delicacy)

  1. Soak Urad dal and rice overnight
  2. Grind to a coarse thick paste. Add salt and mitha soda mix it properly,
  3. Ferment it for 6 hrs
  4. For stuffing, cook coconut and jaggery. Add cardamom powder, pepper powder, and cottage cheese.
  5. Take a turmeric leaf and wash properly
  6. Now put and some batter and some stuffing on it
  7. Then fold the leaf
  8. Steam in pressure cooker or idli cooker for 15 mins
  9. After 15 mins take out the enduri's and remove the leaf
  10. Serve hot or at room temperature

My Tip:

If turmeric leaf is not available then you may try with a banana leaf
