Perfect Bhatura

Ingredients to make Perfect Bhatura

  • 2 cups maida
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup curd
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 pich soda bi carb
  • salt to taste
  • oil for frying

How to make Perfect Bhatura

  1. Mix curd, sugar and soda in a large bowl. Keep aside for 5 mins.
  2. After 5 mins the mixture will become frothy.
  3. Now add maida , oil, salt to taste and mix well
  4. Add warm water to make a soft dough. Knead the dough well for 7-8 mins till smooth. Cover and let the dough rest for 2 hours
  5. After the dough has rested for 2 hours, divide dough in round balls. Cover and keep for 10 more mins. This will make the rolling easy
  6. Apply oil on a flat surface. Take a ball and press with greased hands.
  7. Start rolling with a rolling pin starting from centre and going to side.
  8. Lift the bhatura and slowly slide into hot oil. Press with the back of slotted spoon to help it become blow up like a balloon.
  9. Flip and fry on second side
  10. Serve hot with chole. These bhaturas are flaky and soft. Enjoy.
