Ingredients to make Khopra Paak

  • Desiccated coconut 125 grams (2 cups)
  • Mawa/khoya 100 grams (3/4 cup)
  • Milk 1/2 cup
  • Clarified butter 2 teaspoons
  • Sugar 100 grams ( one cup)
  • Water 50 millilitre (half cup)

How to make Khopra Paak

  1. First if all grease a plate and keep aside
  2. Now in a heavy bottom pan roast mawa on low heat for just few minutes
  3. Do not over roast otherwise it will change colour and will become pink or brown
  4. Let it cool it will become dry
  5. Grind it in mixer for 2-3 second only(just to remove granules if any)
  6. Heat clarified butter in a pan add desiccated coconut and roast for few minutes on low heat
  7. Add mawa and milk
  8. Mix well and cook covered for2-3 minutes only on low heat
  9. Mean while in another pan add sugar and water
  10. Boil it and make syrup of one string consistency
  11. Add mawa-coconut mixture
  12. Stir continuously
  13. Soon mixture will get thicken and star leaving sides of pan
  14. Spreade this mixture into greased plate
  15. Press it little with the help of flate bowl
  16. Let it cool completely
  17. Garnish it and cut into desired shape
My Tip: If barfi is too soft then keep in refrigerator for half an hour
