Red Velvet Bengali Rasagulla

Ingredients to make Red Velvet Bengali Rasagulla

  • Milk 1 litre
  • 1 lemon (squeeze juice)
  • sugar 1 cup
  • 1 Beetroot (grate and squeeze to get juice)
  • 1 tsp cornflour

How to make Red Velvet Bengali Rasagulla

  1. Boil milk once, add 1/2 cup beetroot juice
  2. Turn off the gas and let it sit for 5 mins now add lemon juice to it
  3. So milk will split now strain it completely
  4. Now wash the cheese with normal water
  5. Now hang cheese in a muslin cloth for 12 mins
  6. Now remove from cloth and mix it well and mash it
  7. Add cornflour and mix well
  8. Now make round balls out of it
  9. For syrup take 1 cup sugar and 2 cup water and 1/2 cup remaining beetroot juice
  10. Boil it once
  11. Now add balls to it
  12. Make syrup in pressure cooker and after adding balls as soon as pressure is about to come turn the gas to medium
  13. Now cook in sim for 12 mins and turn off the gas
  14. Let it cool by itself and when pressure cooker cools itself, open the lid

My Tip:

Adding cornflour to cheddar adds it a good hold for making round balls
