Masala Mathari

Ingredients to make Masala Mathari

  • Wheat flour 1 cup (150 grams)
  • Plain flour (maida) 1 cup (150 grams)
  • Clarified butter (ghee) 5-6 tablespoons
  • Carom seeds 1 teaspoon
  • Malvani masala 1 tablespoons (can adjust according to your taste)
  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon or as hot you like
  • Asafoetida (hing) a pinch
  • salt as per taste
  • Luck warm water to knead the dough as required

How to make Masala Mathari

  1. In a deep bowl/plate mix all dry ingredients
  2. ad hot ghee for moyan
  3. Mix well. mixture should look crumbly
  4. add water little by little and make neither soft nor very hard dough.
  5. keep dough covered and rest it for 15 minutes
  6. Now take a medium size ball and roll it like chapati with help of dusting some maida
  7. Prick it with fork and cut in desired shape
  8. I have used oval shape cutter
  9. heat oil in a wok. Fry these matharis on low medium heat till crisp and golden brown.
  10. take out on tissue paper let it cool completely.
  11. They are ready to serve or store.
My Tip: You can use any other masala/garam masala in place of malvani masala

malvani masala is special masala used by maharasrtians... available in supermarkes... or you can use any other garam masala(which one u like)
