Onion Tomato Chutney

Ingredients to make Onion Tomato Chutney

  • Onion :- 2 thinly sliced
  • Tomato:- 2 roughly chopped
  • Dry Red chillies:-5-6 Nos
  • Asafoetida (Hing):- 1 tsp
  • Urad Dal:- 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder:- 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • oil for cooking
  • Mustard for tempering
  • Curry leaves for tempering

How to make Onion Tomato Chutney

  1. Heat oil in pan add urad dal and fry until it turns brown in color
  2. Add hing and fry for sec and then add onion and fry until it turns pink in color
  3. Add tomato,salt,turmeric powder and cook until raw smell of tomato goes off.
  4. Switch off the flame and allow it to cool down
  5. Grind this mixture to the smooth paste
  6. For tempering heat oil splutter some mustard and curry leaves fry for 1min and switch off the flame.
  7. Serve this yummy chutney with Dosa or Idli
