ABOUT Banana Chips (Home made) RECIPE

Banana chips of Kerala are very famous. Generally, banana chips are made from nethra pazham(Big banana or Kerala banana). I have made these chips with small bananas. They turned out crisp and delicious.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Raw Banana/Plantain
  2. Oil for frying
  3. Rock salt 1 tbsp
  4. Water 1/2 cup
  5. Turmeric 1/2 tsp optional

Instructions

  1. Mix rock salt in water and set aside
  2. Heat oil. Once the oil is hot, grate banana using chips grater straight away in the oil, add turmeric and give a nice mix.
  3. Fry chips mixing slowly in medium flame.
  4. Once chips started getting crispy you can hear the sound while frying banana, that is the time you need to pour 1/2 teaspoon of salt water and mix it once again for 5 mins
  5. Remove from fire and allow it to cool down
  6. Once it comes to room temperature, place it in air tight container
