Ingredients to make Mangalore Buns

  • Over ripe bananas 2
  • maida 1 cup
  • sugar 3 tsp
  • yoghurt 5 tsp
  • baking soda 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • jeera 1/2 tsp

How to make Mangalore Buns

  1. Peel the bananas and mash them. Make a smooth paste using only your hands. Add salt, jeera, yoghurt, sugar, baking soda and mix well.
  2. Add maida and make a dough similar to chapati or normal puri
  3. Rest it for at least 4-5 hrs.
  4. Roll out small balls and make small Puris and fry them till nice golden brown.
  5. Enjoy hot Mangalore buns with chutney and sambar.

My Tip:

Fermenting the dough overnight will give best results.
