  • Shallots:- 1 cup chopped
  • Green Chilly:- 3 chopoed finely
  • Ginger:- 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Curry Leaves: few sprigs
  • Turmeric powder:-1/2 tsp
  • Black Pepper Powder:- 1 tsp
  • Chilly Powder:- 1tbsp
  • Cummin Seeds:- 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala;- 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • coconut oil:- 2 tbsp
  • Grated coconut

How to make Pananjil/ Meen mutta thoran ( kerala special fish egg thoran)

  1. Heat oil in clay pot(Mann Chatti) add cummin seeds and allow to splutter
  2. Add onion,ginger,green chilly, curry leaves and try until raw smell of ginegr goes off
  3. Add turmeric powder,chilly powder,blackpepper powder and roast for 2 mins
  4. Add fish egg give a nice mix cover with lid and cook in amedium flame for 7 mins
  5. Remove lid add scraped coconut stir nicely and cook for another 6-7 mins
  6. Add garam masala and cook for 2-3 mins and cover with lid to set all aroma
  7. Serve hot with rice
