ABOUT Whole wheat banana cake RECIPE

A very healthy and moist cake prepared using whole wheat flour, banana, dates and nuts. U can serve this with evening tea or as a desert with ice cream or can have it any time

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Over ripe bananas 3
  2. Whole Wheat Flour 1 cup
  3. Sugar/ brown sugar 1/2 cup or less as per sweetness of bananas
  4. Baking Powder 1 Tsp
  5. Baking soda 1/2 tsp
  6. Salt a pinch
  7. Cinnamon powder 1/2 tsp
  8. Cooking oil 1/4 cup
  9. Honey 1 tbs
  10. Yogurt 1/4 Cup
  11. Milk 3-4 tsp (if needed to adjust consistency of batter)
  12. Vanilla essence 1/2 tsp
  13. Choice of nuts and chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl
  2. Mash bananas with a fork or blender
  3. Mix oil and yogurt in a bowl and add vanilla essence to it.
  4. Now add mashed bananas to it and mix gently
  5. Add in all the dry ingredients and add a tsp of milk at a time if required to adjust consistency of the batter
  6. Pre heat oven at 180 degrees and grease the baking bowl
  7. Pour in the batter and garnish with choice of nuts. U can also add nuts in the batter also
  8. Bake the cake at 180 degrees for almost 20-25 minutes till it turns golden brown and toothpick comes out clean
  9. Let the cake cool down completely before unfolding
  10. Enjoy with tea or ice cream or as it is
