Matar aur pyaz ki kachori

Ingredients to make Matar aur pyaz ki kachori

  • 2 cups - Whole wheat flour
  • 100 gms - peas
  • 2 - onions
  • 15 to 20 - raisins
  • 1/2 cup - tamarind Pulp
  • 1 tbsp - sugar
  • 2 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 tsp - jeera powder
  • 1 tsp - Red Chili Powder -
  • 1 tsp - Black pepper powder
  • oil for frying
  • salt as per taste

How to make Matar aur pyaz ki kachori

  1. Knead wheat flour, black pepper, salt, a few drops of oil and water.
  2. Grind peas and onions, do not make a paste. Add salt, coriander powder, jeera powder, red chili powder and black pepper powder.
  3. Make round balls of the dough, press with your hand and make a depression. Fill with the peas-onion mixture and form a ball.
  4. Now, slowly by hand or by a rolling pin/belan press gradually to have a poori with uniformly distributed filling. Do this till both the batters are finished.
  5. Heat oil in a deep frying pan and slide these poori's in, one or two at a time.
  6. When they get puffed and golden brown in colour, take them out and place on tissue paper. This helps the excess oil to be soaked.
  7. For the Imli chutney: Take the tamarind pulp, add sugar, a pinch of salt and water if needed.
  8. Serve the hot kachoris with the Imli ki chutney.
