Ingredients to make Banana strawberry upside down cake

  • Wheat flour 1/2 cup
  • Jowar flour 1/2 cup
  • Amaranth flour 1/4 cup
  • Vanilla extract 2 teaspoon
  • Eggs 2
  • Baking powder 1 teaspoon
  • Baking soda 1/4 teaspoon
  • Organic raw Sugar 3/4 cup
  • Oil 1/3 cup
  • Salt a pinch
  • Milk few tablespoon if the batter is too dry
  • Banana 2-3 small variety
  • For Strawberry compote
  • Strawberry 10
  • Lemon juice 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar 3 tablespoon

How to make Banana strawberry upside down cake

  1. Strawberry compote preparation: Take chopped strawberries, lemon juice and sugar in a pan. Bring it to boil then simmer till it thickens and turns dark red, mash the strawberries with spatula while simmering. Takes about 10 minutes.
  2. Sieve the flours with baking soda,baking powder and salt 5-6 times.
  3. Beat the eggs till doubles. Add sugar and beat till light and fluffy.
  4. Add vanilla extract.
  5. Add oil, mix
  6. Fold the flour in batches. Add milk if required. Don't over mix.
  7. In a baking dish spread generous amount of the compote in the base followed by banana slices over it.
  8. Then pour the batter over it.
  9. Bake in a pre heated oven at 180 degrees'for 40 minutes or until skewer comes out clean. Bake as per your oven.
  10. After 10 minutes invert the cake and let it cool completely before slicing.
