Dry Prawns Fry

Ingredients to make Dry Prawns Fry

  • 2 cups dry prawns (suka javla)
  • 2 cups finely chopped onions
  • 2 green chillies (finely chopped) OR 1 tsp red chilly powder
  • 4 - 5 pcs kokum
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped corriander
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 4 - 5 tbs oil

How to make Dry Prawns Fry

  1. In a pan dry roast the dry prawns for about 5 minutes.
  2. Add about 5 cups of water to the prawns and keep aside.
  3. In the meanwhile, in another pan heat oil and add the chopped onions.
  4. Fry onions till light pink. Add the kokum pieces.
  5. Rinse the prawns and discard the water. Add the prawns to the onions in the pan.
  6. Add turmeric powder and red chilly powder/ green chilies and mix well.
  7. Check and add salt if required. Mix well.
  8. Add 1 - 2 tbs water if too dry. Add the coriander.
  9. Cover and cook for about 5 - 10 mins.
  10. Serve with rice or chapatis.
