We generally make potato soup but have you tried making raw banana (kache kele) soup. If not, then this recipe is a must try. This soup is perfect for a cold winter evening. I have added onions to the soup which you can certainly skip to make it a Jain soup. Do try this recipe and share your feedback!

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Raw Banana (Kacha Kela): 1 (100 gms, peeled & cut into small pieces)
  2. Celery: 1 sprig (25 gms, chopped)
  3. Onion: 1 small (50 gms, chopped)
  4. Milk: 1⁄2 cup
  5. Water: 1 cup
  6. salt as per taste
  7. Black pepper powder as per taste

Instructions

  1. In a pan add water and bring it to a boil.
  2. Add onion, celery, and raw banana pieces.
  3. Add salt and mix well. Cover and let cook for 15 minutes, or until all of the vegetables are very tender.
  4. Coarsely crush the bananas using a potato masher.
  5. Add milk and black pepper powder. Mix well.
  6. Let cook for a few more minutes.
  7. Serve hot.
  8. Yummy "Raw Banana and Celery Soup" is ready!
