Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. FOR THE DOUGH :-
  2. Whole wheat flour - 1 1/2 cups
  3. Salt - to taste
  4. For the stuffing :-
  5. Raw banana - 2
  6. Caraway seeds (ajwain) - 1 teaspoon
  7. Garam masala powder - 2 teaspoons
  8. Dry mango powder - 2 teaspoons
  9. Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  10. Turmeric Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  11. Chopped Green Chillies - 2
  12. Chopped coriander leaves - 2 sprig

Instructions

  1. Cut the banana into three pieces along with the skin.
  2. Boil in pressure cooker with water and salt for about four whistles.
  3. Once done remove the skin and mash it into a fine paste.
  4. Now add in the ajwain,garam masala powder,turmeric powder,dry mango powder,coriander powder, chopped green chillies,coriander leaves and salt.mix well.
  5. Knead all the ingredients for the dough into a soft dough.keep some flour aside for dusting.
  6. Now divide the dough into large lemon size balls.
  7. Dust the dough portions in flour,flatten it and roll it into three inch diameter circle.
  8. Place the filling on the centre of the circle and close the paratha by folding it from all sides.
  9. Press it down gently using a rolling pin.Take care,the filling can ooze out if the dough is rolled out too thin.
  10. Preheat the tawa on medium heat.Place the rolled paratha on it and allow it to cook on one side.
  11. After about 15-20 seconds,flip the paratha.
  12. At this stage smear some oil to cook the paratha.
  13. Flip the paratha over a couple of times until you see golden brown spots on both sides.
  14. Proceed in the same way with the remaining dough portions.
  15. Serve the raw banana and ajwain paratha with curd,raita or any chutney and pickle of your choice.
