Ingredients to make la fan qui chicken

  • chicken 350 gms
  • potato starch 40gms
  • Garlic paste 1 tbs
  • Szechwan cooking paste 2tbs
  • Eggs 2nos
  • light soy sauce 3tbs
  • rice wine vinegar 3tbs
  • crushed garlic 5 cloves
  • onions 1 and a 1/2 nos
  • capsicum 1/2 nos
  • pak choi 4 stems
  • spring onion 1/4 stem
  • celery 2 stems
  • dried red chilli 3 nos
  • tomatoes 2 and 1/2 nos
  • white pepper 3 tbs ( depending on level of spiciness)
  • thasia stir fry sauce 1/4th bottle

How to make la fan qui chicken

  1. Marinate chicken with potato starch,eggs,soy sauce,rice vinegar,garlic paste ,sechewan sauce, & pepper powder saucekeep in the fridge for 6 hrs.
  2. heat oil in a pan & deep fry.
  3. heat another pan. add oil. put garlic , crushed. then add onion , spring onion & celery. fry for a few sec.
  4. then add sliced tomatoes along with all sauces.
  5. let it cook till tomatoes r well smashed. then add fried chicken pieces & pak choi, cut into pieces.
  6. cook for another 3,4 min.
  7. serve hot.
  8. remember to add red chilli along with the garlic but as per your spice requirements
My Tip: Traditional Chinese cooking never adds deep fried chicken to their dishes. This dish was made with the indo Chinese in mind of deep frying the chicken and adding it to the sauce. For those who wish to try the original Chinese way... first boil the chicken pieces in water by adding chicken bone powder, salt, light soy, rice wine vinegar and little bit of oil. Towards the end, add the pak choi and remove the veg after 20 secs. Do not use onions but use spring onions in its place... the Chinese are not regular users of onions... don't use celery either... Once the chicken is cooked, just add the chicken to the sauce and let it simmer... use the stock water to top up the sauce instead of water. Add the pak choi towards the end...

Nice recepie. I would prefer to try the Chinese version as its more healthy. And I love boiled chicken.
