ABOUT Instant Gulab Jamuns (Milk Powder) RECIPE

My 2 year old gets so excited the moment he see's mummy is making 'Gulab Jamun'.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Sugar - 2 cups
  2. Water - 1.5 cups
  3. Milk powder (full fat) - 1 cup
  4. Maida - 1/2 cup
  5. Fresh cream - 1/2 cup or a little more
  6. Cardamom - 3 to 4
  7. Ghee - 1 tbsp
  8. Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  9. Oil or ghee for frying the jamuns
  10. A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. For the dough: Take the milk powder, maida, salt, baking powder in a bowl. Add ghee and mix well.
  2. Now add the fresh cream and form a soft smooth dough with a light hand to form a khoya like consistency.
  3. If you feel dough is a little dry then add more cream. Now make small balls and cover them with a cloth.
  4. Heat oil or ghee in a kadhai. Fry these balls on medium to high flame. Remove and place them on kitchen paper.
  5. Now take 2 cups of sugar and 1.5 cups water in a pan to make sugar syrup. Add some cardamom and boil this mix well to make the syrup.
  6. Add the jamuns to this syrup and keep them aside after closing the flame for 2-3 hours so that the jamuns absorb the syrup well.
  7. You can add saffron strands as well Yummy & soft Gulab Jamuns are ready.

hi deepa I'm on the go for trying your recipe. when I put my balls in hot oil they fluffs and become too soft to handle pls help. waiting
