Afghani Chicken

Ingredients to make Afghani Chicken

  • 500 gms Chicken (medium sized pieces)
  • Medium ring sliced onions - 3
  • Tomato puree - 1/2 cup
  • Fresh cream - 1 cup
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin powder - 1 tsp
  • Black pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Yogurt - 3 tbsp
  • Red chili powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Ghee - 2 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves to garnish

How to make Afghani Chicken

  1. For marination: take chicken, cream, yogurt and all spices mentioned along with salt in a bowl and mix. Keep it in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  2. After 2 hours of marination take out the chicken and place aside. Meanwhile, add ghee in a hot pan and add the ring sliced onions.
  3. When the onion turns slightly brown, put tomato puree and saute again. Sprinkle some salt over it.
  4. After 2-3 minutes, add the marinated chicken and cover it with a lid.
  5. Let the chicken cook over low flame.
  6. Keep turning the sides of chicken pieces so that they are evenly cooked.
  7. In 20 minutes this delicious dish is ready to taste. Garnish the dish with coriander leaves.
