Banana and Apple Porridge

Ingredients to make Banana and Apple Porridge

  • Cracked wheat 3/4th cup
  • Quick rolled oats 4 tbsp
  • honey 3 tbsp
  • raisins 2 tbsp
  • bananas 3 sliced
  • apples 2 cut into cubes
  • Milk 2 1/2 cups
  • walnuts chopped 2 tbsp
  • cinnamon powder 1 tsp
  • butter 2 tbsp
  • Strawberries sliced a handful (optional)

How to make Banana and Apple Porridge

  1. Soak the cracked wheat in enough water overnight. If short of time it can be soaked for an hour too.
  2. In a pan, heat the butter and saute the oats and the cracked wheat for 2 mins.
  3. Pressure cook it for 6 to 7 whistles adding the milk and the cinnamon powder. Can add some water too if needed. I cooked it on low flame on the gas.
  4. Let it cool down before opening the lid. Let it sit in the refrigerator until serving.
  5. Before serving, add the fruits and the nuts.
  6. Serve it chilled or can be given warm.
  7. Top each serving bowl with some slices of banana, a slice of apple and a cinnamon stick.
