Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Chicken - 250 gms
  2. Jeera samba rice - 1 cup
  3. Chopped onion - 1 (big)
  4. Chopped tomato - 1
  5. Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  6. Chopped green chili - 1
  7. Mint leaves - 10-15
  8. Coriander leaves - 10-15
  9. Fennel seeds - 1 tbsp
  10. Cloves - 1-2
  11. Small piece of cinnamon
  12. Cardamom (crushed) - 1
  13. Aniseed - 1
  14. Biryani masala (optional) - 1 tbsp
  15. Coriander powder - 2 tbsp
  16. Garam masala - 1 tsp
  17. Chili powder - 1/2 tsp
  18. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Add 2 tbsp of oil, fennel seeds and other dry spices in a pressure cooker.
  2. Add in onion, ginger-garlic paste and sauté till onion turns translucent.
  3. Add chicken and salt to it and sauté them well.
  4. Blend mint leaves, coriander leaves, chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, biriyani masala and tomato in a blender.
  5. Add the mixture and sauté for 5 minutes.
  6. Then add rice.
  7. Add 2 and 1/2 cup of water.
  8. Pressure cook for 2-3 whistles.
  9. Add a spoon of ghee at last.
  10. Serve hot with onion and cucumber raita.
