Ingredients to make Puranpoli

  • Chanadal 2cups soaked overnight
  • 1 1/2 cup jaggory
  • 1tsp Cardamom powder
  • 2cups maida
  • 2tsp oil
  • Pinch of salt
  • Water to knead the dough

How to make Puranpoli

  1. Cook the soaked chana dal in enough water till it is cooked properly (it should be able to crush with fingers)
  2. Remove the excess water and add jaggery and cook until the jaggery gets dissolved and the mixture becomes dry
  3. Add cardamom powder and let it cool
  4. Grind in puran machine or mixie and keep aside
  5. Make a soft dough using all the ingredients mentioned for the dough
  6. Stuff the dough with puran
  7. Roll out like parathas
  8. Roast on tava or griddle and serve hot with Desi ghee and milk
