ABOUT Banana Split Lasagna RECIPE

A sweet fruity version of lasagna, enjoyed making this dessert!

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Marie gold biscuit crumbs - 2 cups
  2. Melted butter - 1/2 cup
  3. Vanilla essence - 1/2 teaspoon
  4. Granulated Sugar - 1 Cup
  5. Milk - 4 cups
  6. Heavy cream - 2 cups
  7. Pineapple slices - 1 can
  8. Ripe bananas - 4
  9. Custard powder - 3 tablespoons
  10. Chocolate syrup - 2-3 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Grease a baking dish and set aside.
  2. In a bowl combine the biscuit crumbs and melted butter.
  3. Put this mixture into the baking dish and press them into an even layer. Now place the baking dish into the fridge.
  4. In another bowl whip the cream with vanilla essence util stiff peaks form. Place this as well in the fridge.
  5. Chop the bananas and pineapples. Keep aside.
  6. For the custard : In a thick bottomed pan heat milk.
  7. Once the milk becomes warm, take about 1/4 cup milk in a bowl. Add custard powder in it and mix well. Make sure there are no lumps.
  8. Once the milk comes to boil add sugar in it. Keep stirring continuously.
  9. Once the sugar dissolves add milk-custard mixture and cook on medium heat for 8-10 minutes or till custard thickens, while stirring continuously.
  10. Remove from flame and set aside to cool.
  11. Assembling : Take out the baking dish with biscuit crumbs.
  12. Spread a layer of whipped cream.
  13. Add in the chopped bananas and pineapples to the custard and spread the mixture on the cream layer.
  14. Finish the final layer with the remaining cream.
  15. Drizzle chocolate syrup and chill for 1 hour.
  16. Serve cold.
