Ingredients to make Raw banana rings

  • Raw banana 3 medium size
  • Coriander leaves 1 1/2 cup
  • Besan/gram flour 2 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida 1 pinch
  • Crushed Black Pepper 1 tsp
  • Ginger 1 inch
  • green chillies 3
  • Red chilly powder as per taste
  • salt as per taste
  • Aamchur powder 1/2 tsp
  • Oil for roasting

How to make Raw banana rings

  1. Cut the raw bananas in 2 halves and microwave for 3 minutes or until they turn soft for mashing.
  2. Grind green chillies, coriander leaves & ginger to make a thick paste.
  3. Heat some oil in a pan, add cumin seeds & asafoetida.
  4. When they crackle add pepper powder and besan, roast for a min.
  5. Then add the thick chilli coriander paste into it and saute for 2 more mins.
  6. Peel the cooked bananas & mash them properly.
  7. Add this mashed bananas to the sauted mixture.
  8. Into this add chilly powder and salt, mix it to form a thick dough.
  9. Apply some oil to your palms, make a small ball of that dough and make a hole in its centre.
  10. Now take a non-stick pan greased with some oil, arrange your banana rings on it.
  11. Pour 1/2 tsp oil around each banana ring and roast it on a very slow flame, golden brown from both the sides.
  12. Your crispy banana rings are ready to be served hot with chutney or tomato ketchup...
My Tip: You can add few drops of water while making chutney to make it smooth.
