Matar Pulav

Ingredients to make Matar Pulav

  • Basmati Rice - 1 & half glass ( cooked )
  • Green peas - 1 big cup
  • Onion - 1 big finely chopped
  • Green chilly - 1 finely chopped
  • Ginger - half inch piece finely chopped
  • Jeera - 1 tspn
  • Pav bhaji masala - 1 tspn
  • Ghee - 1 tbspn
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - 1 tbspn
  • Fried Cashew - 7 to 8 for garnish
  • Coriander leaves for garnish

How to make Matar Pulav

  1. Cook the Basmati rice & keep it aside. Left over long grain rice also can be used
  2. Take a kadhai put oil & little ghee when hot add jeera & after it splutters add the chopped onions & ginger and green chilli
  3. Saute well for a few minutes
  4. In the meantime take the green peas wash it & put it in a microwave safe vessel. Put little salt & cook for 3 minutes or till done.
  5. When it is cooked put the green peas in the kadhai. Mix well
  6. Add pav bhaji masala & little salt.
  7. Then add the rice. Mix gently so that the rice grain does not break
  8. Turn off the gas. Garnish with coriander leaves & fried cashews
  9. Serve hot with raita & papad :blush:
