Ingredients to make Kache Kele Pulla Jantikalu / Raw Banana Sour Murukku/Plaintain Sour Chakli

  • Homemade Murukku Mix -2 cups
  • Raw banana -1 small
  • Hing -1/2 tsp
  • Salt - 1 1/4 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 3/4 tsp
  • Butter - 1 tbsp (room temperature)
  • Green chillies - 4
  • Lemon juice - 1/4 cup
  • Water- as needed
  • oil -for frying

How to make Kache Kele Pulla Jantikalu / Raw Banana Sour Murukku/Plaintain Sour Chakli

  1. Cook the raw banana and peel the skin.Once it cooled mashed/Puree it without adding any water and any lumps.Measure and take the 1/2 cup puree only for this recipe
  2. \Grind the green chillies and lemon juice in mixie to a fine paste.Filter it through in sieve.
  3. Dry roast the mustard seeds in a kadai until it splutter and keep it aside.
  4. In a wide bowl add the murukku mix ,hing,butter,salt,1/2 cup raw banana puree,roasted mustard seeds,Filtered green chillies lemon juice water.Mix it well
  5. Now add the required water to make a smooth dough. Meanwhile heat oil in a kadai.
  6. Grease the murukku press with little oil,fill the dough and press the dough in circular motion in hot oil
  7. Fry the murukku in medium flame, when one side is done, flip it and fry. Once it turns crispy transfer it to a plate with paper towel.
  8. Once it completely cooled, store it in a airtight container.
My Tip: *If you don't have a murukku mix then take 1 cup rice flour,1/4 cup moongdal flour,2 tbsp urad dal flour and mix it well. *Always fry the murukku in medium flame else it will turned into brown colour.
