Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Egg - 1
  2. Sugar - 1/2 cup
  3. Melted butter - 1/4 cup
  4. Refined Flour - 3 cups
  5. Bananas 2
  6. Dates - 5
  7. Baking powder - 1 tablespoon
  8. Baking soda - 1/4 teaspoon
  9. Salt - a Pinch
  10. Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  11. Vanilla essence - 1 teaspoon
  12. Oil- for deep frying
  13. For the glaze :-
  14. Chocolate chips - 1 cup
  15. Coffee powder - 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. In a blender, blend together the bananas and dates. keep aside.
  2. Beat together the egg, butter and sugar with vanilla essence.
  3. In a bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, ground cinnamon and salt.
  4. Now add the banana-date mixture alternatively with the egg mixture to the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  5. The dough should be easy to handle. If not, add little by little flour until you are happy.
  6. Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 7 mm. Cut out rounds with a cookie cutter and then with a smaller cookie cutter cut out the donut hole.
  7. Heat oil to medium and fry 3-4 donuts at a time until golden and cooked.
  8. Place on absorbent paper. let it cool completely.
  9. Once donuts are cool melt the chocolate chips in a shallow bowl and mix in the coffee powder.
  10. Now dip the top of your donut directly into the melted chocolate.
  11. Your yummy banana donuts are ready.
