Matar Paneer

Ingredients to make Matar Paneer

  • Paneer - 400 gms
  • Green peas - 1 big cup ( fresh or frozen )
  • Onion - 2 big sliced
  • Tomato - 2 cut small
  • Red chilly powder - half tspn (adjust to taste )
  • Black pepper powder - 1\ 4 tspn
  • Turmeric powder - half tspn
  • Garam masala powder - half tspn
  • Cashew - 10
  • Ginger - half inch piece
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Jeera - 1 tspn
  • Paneer Butter Masala powder - 2 tspn
  • Kasuri methi - 2 pinches( Dry powder)
  • Milk - 1/4 th cup
  • Cream - 1 tbspn
  • Salt to taste
  • water for cooking
  • Oil - 1 tbspn
  • Butter - 1 tbspn
  • Coriander leaves for garnish

How to make Matar Paneer

  1. Take a mixer jar & blend the onion, tomato, cashews, ginger & garlic to a smooth paste.
  2. Then take a kadai, put oil & when hot add jeera & after it splutters add the ground paste
  3. Let it cook well. The raw smell should go. Keep stirring continuously. Add butter and cook again
  4. Now add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, paneer butter masala powder, black pepper powder & salt and mix well
  5. In the meantime take a microwave safe bowl and put the green peas in it. Cook for 5 minutes
  6. When it is cooked, add it in the kadhai and Put a little water & cover and cook for a few minutes
  7. Now add cream, milk and cook again
  8. Add paneer cubes in this and mix gently. Check the salt
  9. If required add water & bring to a boil
  10. Put kasuri methi & little garam masala powder
  11. Garnish with coriander leaves & serve hot with rotis
