Ripe Banana Karanji (Ghughra, Gujia)

Ingredients to make Ripe Banana Karanji (Ghughra, Gujia)

  • Ripe banana 1
  • semolina 1/2 cup
  • coconut grated 1/2 cup.
  • sugar 2 to 3 tbsp (according to taste)
  • Blanched Almonds and pistachio 2 tsp
  • Cardemom 1/2 tsp
  • ghee 2 tsp
  • all purpose flour 1 cup
  • ghee 1 tsp to add while kneading flour
  • oil for Deep frying

How to make Ripe Banana Karanji (Ghughra, Gujia)

  1. Heat ghee in a pan and roast the semolina. Let it cool.
  2. Dry roast coconut
  3. Mash Banana and to the mixture
  4. Now add sugar and Cardamom powder to the cooled semolina and Coconut mixture.
  5. Take all purpose flour and add ghee.
  6. Knead flour by adding milk with Saffron.
  7. Add blanched and chopped Almonds, Pistachios
  8. Roll a poori out of the dough
  9. place the filling and fold the poori
  10. Pull the sides of the poori and fold triangle wise to give shape of gujia.
  11. Heat oil in a pan and fry the Karanji (Gujia). Fry till you get a nice brown color.
  12. And your yummy tasty Karanji (Ghughra, gujia) is ready.

My Tip:

You can add sugar according to the taste. As we are adding Banana we need less ghee while kneading the flour.
