Ingredients to make Kadhi with pakode

  • Besan 1 cup for kadhi and 1 cup for pakode
  • Curd 1 cup, mixed with water to make buttermilk
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Musturd seeds 3/4 tsp
  • Karri patta
  • Salt to taste
  • Dry red chilli 4-5
  • Little ginger
  • Oil for frying the pakode and for tempering

How to make Kadhi with pakode

  1. Take a cup of curd mix water in it to make buttermilk. Add turmeric powder, salt and hing in it. Let it cook for about 30 minutes continuously stirring it till it begins to boil then simmer the gas.
  2. Prepare for tempering by heating oil and adding red chilli, dry cumin seeds, mustard seeds and kadi patta and crushed ginger in a pan and now add this tempered masala to the kadi mixture that we made earlier.
  3. Now for pakode, add little water to besan and add red chilli powder, salt and make a bhajiye like batter.
  4. Make pakode in hot oil till brown on both sides
  5. Add the pakode in kadi when they cool a little. Enjoy it with rice or roti.
My Tip: Make bhajiye/pakode soft by adding hot oil in it.
