Ingredients to make Yam fry/Senaikilangu Varuval

  • 1/2 kg yam
  • 2 tbsp coriander seeds
  • 6-7 dry red chillies
  • 1 tbsp fennel seeds
  • 4-5 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • curry leaves
  • Oil 2 tbsp

How to make Yam fry/Senaikilangu Varuval

  1. Boil yam with salt and turmeric. Drain the water and keep aside
  2. Dry roast and grind fennel, coriander seeds, red chillies and garlic
  3. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds once it splutter add curry leaves followed by yam and toss it well
  4. Now add the grounded powder and mix well
  5. Keep the flame low and roast it for 10 mins and yam fry is ready to serve
