Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Bottle gourd cut into small pieces- 500 gm
  2. Potato cut into cubes - 2
  3. Onion chopped -1
  4. Tomato chopped - 2
  5. Cinnamon stick -1 inch
  6. Black pepper corn -6
  7. Bay leaf -.2
  8. Cumin seed - 1 tsp
  9. Whole red chilli -3
  10. Small Mustard seeds -1 tsp
  11. Coriander Powder-1/2 tsp
  12. Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
  13. ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  14. Green chilli - 2
  15. Deghi red chilli powder - 1tsp
  16. Tomato pickle - 1 tbsp
  17. Chat masala powder -1 tbsp
  18. Salt - 1tsp or to taste
  19. Oil - 3 tbsp
  20. Coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a cooker add in cumin seed,small mustard seeds,bay leaf, dry whole red chillies broken into 2 cinnamon stick, whole pepper corn sautey until cracling sound start coming.
  2. addin chopped onions sautey until onions turns golden brown, mix ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, deghi red chilli powder, coriander powder in 2tbsp water and pour this mixture in cooker.
  3. Fry until oil separates from masala. Addin chopped tomatoes and green chillies sautey until tomatoes turn soft.
  4. Add in cut potatoes and cut bottle gourd pieces and sautey for 2minutes.
  5. Fry for 2minutes.
  6. Addin 1/2 cup water, tomato pickle and salt to taste and fry for 2 minutes.
  7. Cook for 2 minutes if it start sticking you can add some more water,dont forget to stir inbetween and cover the lid.
  8. cook under medium high flame untill 2-3 whistle comes.
  9. Open the lid and addin chaat masala and chopped coriander leaves mix with cooking spoon now your chatpati (spicy) achari bottle gourd and potato curry is ready to serve.
  10. Serve hot with paratha. Or chapati.
