Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Banana- 4, medium-sized, ripe but firm
  2. Dark or White Cooking Chocolate- 1 cup, grated
  3. Coconut Oil- 1 tbsp ,preferably organic
  4. Disposable fruit picks or long toothpicks or ice cream sticks- 12 to 15
  5. Chocolate sprinkles or coarsely powdered groundnut- 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop bananas into 2 inch roundels or any size of your choice. The bananas should be ripe but firm in shape.
  2. Insert a fruit pick or long toothpick or ice cream sticks into each banana piece. Line a tray or plate with butter sheet. Place the banana pieces with the toothpicks facing upwards. Freeze them for 15 minutes.
  3. Melt the grated chocolate in a double boiler or in a microwave. Stir in between until it looks smooth without any lumps.
  4. Add melted coconut oil and mix well. In this recipe, I have used organic coconut oil that is rich in flavor. You can opt for flavorless coconut oil or any other cooking medium like olive oil, butter etc.
  5. Keep ready the chocolate sprinkles or coarsely grounded groundnuts in a plate.
  6. Dip frozen banana pieces one at a time in chocolate; gently shake to remove excess layer and coat the sprinkles or nuts evenly on all the sides.
  7. You can use it immediately as the chocolate sets quickly or if required freeze the pops for sometime before serving.
