Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Thick flat rice - 400 gm
  2. Copped onion - 1 big size
  3. Chopped tomato - 1 big size
  4. Groundnuts - 1/4 cup
  5. Curry leaves - 10-15
  6. Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  7. Small mustard seeds - 1tbsp
  8. Red chilli broken into two -3
  9. Green chilli cut into two pieces-2
  10. Salt - 1 tsp or to taste
  11. Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
  12. Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp or to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash flat rice (poha) with water 2to 3 times and drain extra water. Keep this flat rice in a steamer add some water in lower layer and cover the lid
  2. Cover the lid and keep this steamer in micowave for 2 minutes
  3. Heat oil in a kadai ,you need to have all these ingredients for tadka small mustard, cumin seeds, whole red chilli, green chilli, curry leaves and chopped onions.
  4. When oil becomes hot addin mustard and cumin seeds after a second add groundnut seeds sautey for a second and addin curry leaves, and chillies sautey until nice aroma start coming .
  5. Addin turmeric powder and chopped onions and sautey till onion turn pinkish in color addin chopped tomatoes.
  6. Sautey untill tomatoes becomes soft.
  7. Take out steamed poha from microwave and mix with cooked onions and tomatoes.
  8. Mix all the ingredients with cooking spoon so that all the ingredients incorporate with each other.
  9. If you think poha is dry you can add 1/4cup water to make poha soft. Squeeze in 1/2 lemon juice to enhance the taste.
  10. Add salt to taste and 1/2 tsp chilli powder and mix with cooking spoon.
  11. Cover the lid and allow poha to cook for 2-3 minutes.
  12. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and mixture(sev).now your poha is ready to serve. Dont wait just have it hot-hot with your family.
