How to make Easy Egg Pulav

  1. Boil eggs in water with little salt, to avoid breaking.
  2. Once they are fully cooked, immerse in water to cool down.
  3. Once they cool down, remove the shell and make 4-5 slits on each egg.
  4. Now take red chili powder, turmeric powder, crushed fennel and some salt in a bowl.
  5. Add water little by little to form a smooth paste.
  6. Stir with spoon to dissolve any lumps.
  7. Now marinate each egg in this spice mixture well.
  8. Heat about 2 tbsp oil in a pan.
  9. Add the marinated eggs one at a time into the oil. Be very careful as the oil may burst when you place the egg. So keep a distance.
  10. Fry the eggs by turning sides, until all the sides turn nice golden brown.
  11. Once done, remove from oil and keep them aside.
  12. Soak the rice for about 15 minutes.
  13. Then wash and allow to drain.
  14. Now heat the remaining oil in a bigger pan and add the whole spices, that is, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, black pepper balls, and bay leaf pieces.
  15. Saute for a minute and then add the onions, ginger, garlic and green chilies.
  16. Saute for 2 minutes.
  17. Next add the chopped tomatoes and saute until they turn soft.
  18. Next add turmeric powder and mix well.
  19. Then add the washed green peas and saute for a minute.
  20. Add salt as required.
  21. I did not use the frozen ones. So i cooked the peas with 1 and 1/2 cups of water. If you are using frozen green peas, you just have to cook covered for 4-5 minutes.
  22. Once peas are almost cooked, add 4 cups of water and allow to boil.
  23. Once the water boils, add in the rice.
  24. Check salt levels, and add more if required.
  25. Cook covered for 10-15 minutes on low flame, or until cooked completely and all the water evaporates.
  26. Serve hot with the fried eggs.
My Tip: Keep distance while frying the eggs as oil may splutter. Use a big glass lid to cover yourself while turning the sides.
