ABOUT Solkadi Shots RECIPE

Solkadi – A natural digestive drink made with kokum and fresh coconut milk extract which helps you immensely when you consume spicy food. It is apt for summer season and you are certainly going to get hooked to it. Since, I love bartending glassware, I served the solkadi in vodka shots glasses which not only increases the aesthetic look to the coolant but also imparts a more sophisticated look to the traditional kokan drink.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Approximately 20 kokum pieces soaked in 2 cups of warm water
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Sugar tp taste
  4. Coconut extract of ½ coconut
  5. 3 to 4 green chili crushed
  6. 8 to 10 garlic crushed
  7. Some coriander leaves finely chopped​
  8. 1 tsp oil
  9. Pinch of hing
  10. Some curry leaves

Instructions

  1. Mash the kokum very nicely in the water.
  2. Add green chilies, garlic, salt and sugar to taste.
  3. Mix everything nicely and sieve the mixture through a strainer.
  4. Add coconut milk to it.
  5. Add coriander leaves and mix well
  6. Heat oil in a tempering pan.
  7. Add hing and curry leaves.
  8. Add this to the solkadi.
  9. Let it chill down completely before you serve.
